Are you a Psychology Graduate eager to gain hands-on experience working with young people and exploring a future career in education, mental health, counselling, or educational psychology?

GSL Education are hiring an enthusiastic and empathetic Psychology Graduate to work within local schools in North Yorkshire and the surrounding areas. This is an excellent opportunity to apply your academic knowledge in a practical setting while making a meaningful difference to students' learning, wellbeing, and personal development.

As a Psychology Graduate, you will support students with a range of learning, behavioural, social, emotional, and mental health needs. Working alongside teachers, pastoral teams, and SEND professionals, you will help create a supportive environment where students can thrive both academically and personally.

Psychology Graduate Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to students on a one-to-one basis and in small groups
  • Assist pupils who may have SEND, SEMH, ASD, ADHD, or other additional needs
  • Support students in developing emotional resilience, confidence, and positive coping strategies
  • Help promote engagement, participation, and positive behaviour within the classroom
  • Assist teaching staff in delivering inclusive learning activities
  • Observe and monitor student progress, reporting concerns or achievements where appropriate
  • Build positive and trusting relationships with students to support their wellbeing and development
  • Contribute to creating a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment

Psychology Graduate Requirements:

  • A degree in Psychology
  • A genuine interest in child development, mental health, and education
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A patient, compassionate, and proactive approach to supporting young people
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Previous experience working with children or young people is advantageous but not essential
  • An understanding of safeguarding and child protection principles
  • An up-to-date CV covering the last ten years (with any gaps explained)
  • An enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or willingness to apply
