Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

Salary: £460 – £600 per week
Contract Type: Full-time, long-term / Day-to-day

About the Role:
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to support pupils with additional needs on a 1:1 basis and in small groups. You will help learners stay engaged in lessons, adapt activities where needed, and provide reassurance and structure throughout the school day.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities

  • Work 1:1 and with small groups of pupils with additional needs

  • Help maintain a calm, structured and supportive learning environment

  • Encourage engagement, independence and positive behaviour

  • Assist with adapting resources to meet individual learning needs

  • Monitor progress and share observations with teaching staff

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable

  • Experience supporting SEN or additional needs is an advantage

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Patient, resilient and adaptable approach

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team

  • A genuine interest in supporting pupils with additional needs
