Job Title: Cover Supervisor
Location: Worksop
Salary: £460 – £650 per week
Contract Type: Full-time, long-term / Day-to-day
Start Date: Immediately
Are you confident managing a classroom and supporting young people in their learning? A range of secondary schools in Worksop are seeking a dependable and proactive Cover Supervisor to step into lessons and ensure continuity of learning across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
About the School:
The schools are supportive and well-structured environments that value consistency, clear expectations and a calm approach to behaviour for learning. Staff work collaboratively to maintain a focused atmosphere where students are supported to stay on task and make progress, even when their usual teacher is absent.
About the Role:
As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise whole classes in the absence of the teacher, ensuring students remain engaged with pre-set work. You will be responsible for maintaining behaviour standards, supporting learning routines and ensuring a productive classroom environment across a variety of subjects.
Responsibilities:

Supervise classes during teacher absence and ensure learning continues effectively

Support students in understanding and completing pre-set work

Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies

Maintain a structured, calm and focused learning environment

Give clear instructions to keep students on task

Report any concerns or incidents to relevant staff

Follow all safeguarding and school procedures consistently
Requirements:

Experience working with young people is desirable

Strong behaviour management and communication skills

Confident, calm and professional manner

Ability to adapt quickly to different classroom settings

Reliable, flexible and committed approach

A genuine interest in supporting education and student progress
