Job Title: Cover Supervisor
Location: Sheffield
Salary: £460 – £650 per week
Contract Type: Full-time, long-term / Day-to-day
Start Date: Immediately
Are you confident managing classrooms and supporting young people in their learning? A range of secondary schools in Sheffield are seeking a reliable and proactive Cover Supervisor to step into lessons and ensure continuity of learning across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.

Staff work collaboratively to maintain a calm and structured atmosphere where students can stay focused and engaged, even in the absence of their usual teacher.
About the Role:
As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise classes during teacher absence, ensuring students remain on task with pre-set work. You will play a key role in maintaining classroom order, supporting learning and upholding school expectations across a variety of subjects.
Responsibilities:

Supervise whole classes in the absence of the teacher

Ensure students complete pre-set work and remain on task

Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies

Maintain a calm, structured and productive learning environment

Support students with instructions and basic queries

Report any concerns to appropriate staff members

Follow school safeguarding and behaviour procedures
Requirements:

Previous experience working with young people is desirable

Strong communication and behaviour management skills

Confident, calm and professional approach

Ability to adapt quickly to different classroom settings

Reliable and consistent availability

A genuine interest in supporting education
