Salary: £92 - £115 per day

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to work within local schools in North Yorkshire and the surrounding areas. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on students' educational journeys by providing valuable classroom support and helping to create an inclusive and engaging learning environment.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and support staff to assist students with their learning, encourage positive engagement, and help ensure that every learner has the opportunity to succeed.

Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:

  • Support teachers in delivering engaging and effective lessons across a range of subjects
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to students who require additional assistance
  • Assist students in developing confidence, independence, and positive learning habits
  • Help prepare classroom resources and learning materials
  • Support students with varying abilities and learning needs to access the curriculum
  • Promote positive behaviour and encourage active participation in lessons
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff where appropriate
  • Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment

Teaching Assistant Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable
  • A genuine passion for supporting students and helping them achieve their potential
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
  • A patient, adaptable, and proactive approach to supporting learning
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection responsibilities
  • An up-to-date CV covering the last ten years (with any gaps explained)
  • An enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or willingness to apply
