Job Title: Design and Technology Teacher
Location: Barnsley
Salary: Up to £200 per day
Contract Type: Full-time / Part-time / Long-term
Start Date: Immediately

A secondary school in Barnsley is seeking a creative and dedicated Design and Technology Teacher to deliver engaging lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.

About the Role:
As a Design and Technology Teacher, you will inspire students through hands-on learning and practical projects, helping them develop technical knowledge, design skills and confidence. You will deliver engaging lessons that encourage creativity while maintaining high standards of teaching and learning.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver Design and Technology lessons across KS3 and KS4

  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback

  • Maintain high expectations for behaviour and classroom engagement

  • Create a safe and organised workshop or classroom environment

  • Support students in developing practical and theoretical subject knowledge

  • Adapt teaching strategies to meet the needs of different learners

  • Contribute positively to departmental and whole-school initiatives

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

  • Experience teaching Design and Technology in a secondary school setting

  • Strong subject knowledge and practical workshop skills

  • Effective classroom and behaviour management abilities

  • Passion for encouraging creativity and independent thinking

  • Reliable, adaptable and professional approach
