Job Title: Teaching Assistant
Location: Fulford, North Yorkshire
Contract: Part Time, Full Time, Term Time Only
Start Date: September 2026 or sooner
Salary: £92 - £115 per day
Are you a supportive and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant looking to make a positive impact on young people's education and development?
GSL Education are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to work within local schools in Fulford and the surrounding areas. This is a fantastic opportunity to support students in their learning journey while working alongside experienced teaching and pastoral staff in a rewarding educational environment.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting students both inside and outside the classroom, helping to create an inclusive, engaging, and positive learning atmosphere where all learners can thrive.
Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:
- Support teachers in delivering engaging and effective lessons across a range of subjects
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to students who require additional assistance
- Help students remain focused, motivated, and engaged in their learning
- Assist with the preparation of classroom resources and learning materials
- Support students with varying learning needs and abilities
- Promote positive behaviour and encourage student participation in lessons
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff where appropriate
- Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
Teaching Assistant Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection principles
- The ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
- A patient, adaptable, and proactive approach to supporting learning
- Good organisational skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
- An up-to-date CV covering the last ten years (with any gaps explained)
- An enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or willingness to apply
