£92 – £125 per day

GSL Education is seeking enthusiastic and motivated Graduate Teaching Assistants to support a range of schools across Scarborough and the surrounding areas from September 2026.

This is an excellent opportunity for graduates looking to gain valuable classroom experience before pursuing teacher training, educational psychology, youth work, speech and language therapy, or other careers supporting children and young people.

We work with a variety of settings, including specialist schools supporting pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs, residential education provisions, and inclusive primary schools that cater for children with a range of additional learning needs. These roles provide a unique opportunity to make a genuine difference while developing your skills in behaviour support, communication, safeguarding, and classroom practice.

About the Role as a Graduate Teaching Assistant:

  • Supporting pupils on a one-to-one and small group basis
  • Assisting teachers with lesson delivery and classroom management
  • Encouraging pupil engagement and confidence in learning
  • Supporting children with additional needs, including SEMH, autism, ADHD, and communication difficulties
  • Helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment

The Ideal Graduate Teaching Assistant Will Have:

  • A degree in any subject area
  • A genuine interest in working with children and young people
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patience, resilience, and a positive attitude
  • Previous experience working with young people is desirable but not essential
