Job Title: Design and Technology Teacher
Location: Barnsley
Pay: Up to £220 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education are keen to appoint a Design and Technology Teacher across the dynamic schools in Barnsley. We are looking for an innovative and organised individual who can guide students through practical projects while developing their technical confidence.
The D&T Teacher will help students turn ideas into outcomes through hands-on learning, design thinking, and structured project work.
Responsibilities of the DT Teacher:
- Deliver practical lessons that develop design, technical, and creative skills
- Guide students through project stages, from ideas and planning to final outcomes
- Encourage safe and responsible use of tools, materials, and equipment
- Support students in solving design challenges with confidence and creativity
- Provide feedback that helps improve both practical and written work
- Maintain an organised environment for focused and productive practical learning
Design and Technology Teacher Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Experience teaching Design and Technology is desirable
- Strong understanding of design processes, materials, and practical techniques
- Ability to manage practical activities safely and effectively
- Good communication, planning, and organisation skills
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
