Job Title: Geography Teacher
Location: Barnsley
Pay: Up to £220 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education are looking to appoint a Geography Teacher to deliver engaging lessons across well-established learning environments in Barnsley. We are looking for a knowledgeable and engaging educator who can deliver clear, interesting lessons that encourage curiosity, discussion, and strong subject understanding.

The Geography Teacher role gives you the chance to support students in developing analytical thinking, map skills, and awareness of environmental and human geography topics.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver Geography lessons that cover physical, human, and environmental topics
  • Encourage students to explore real-world issues through discussion and enquiry
  • Support learners in developing map-reading, research, and analytical skills
  • Assess student progress and provide feedback that supports improvement
  • Adapt lesson activities to suit different abilities and learning needs
  • Create a positive classroom environment that encourages curiosity and participation

Geography Teacher Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Experience teaching Geography is desirable
  • Strong knowledge of Geography curriculum content and key subject areas
  • Ability to make geographical concepts clear, relevant, and engaging
  • Strong communication, organisation, and classroom management skills
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
