Job Title: Cover Supervisor
Location: Barnsley
Pay: £460–£650 per week (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education are looking to appoint a Cover Supervisor (CS) to provide classroom cover across vibrant schools in Barnsley. We are seeking a confident and adaptable individual who can maintain continuity of learning, support positive classroom behaviour, and ensure students remain focused during teacher absence.
The CS is going to offer an excellent route into education, providing valuable experience working directly with students across a variety of subjects and year groups.
Cover Supervisor Responsibilities:
- Deliver pre-planned lessons and ensure learning objectives are followed
- Maintain a focused and productive classroom atmosphere
- Encourage students to complete assigned tasks and participate in activities
- Manage behaviour in accordance with school policies and expectations
- Monitor attendance and report any issues or concerns to relevant staff
- Provide clear instructions and support where appropriate during lessons
Cover Supervisor Requirements:
- Experience working with children or young people is desirable
- Confidence supervising groups of students in a classroom environment
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Ability to think on your feet and adapt to different situations
- Professional and reliable approach to supporting schools
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
