Job Title: Attendance Officer
Location: Sheffield
Pay: £460–£600 per week (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

Could you help improve student attendance by building positive relationships and promoting engagement with education?

GSL Education are seeking an Attendance Officer to join schools in Sheffield. We want an organised and proactive individual who can monitor attendance, identify patterns of concern, and work closely with students, families, and staff to encourage regular school attendance.

This role provides a valuable opportunity to support student success by helping remove barriers to attendance and promoting a positive approach to education.

Responsibilities of Attendance Officer:

  • Monitor daily attendance records and maintain accurate documentation
  • Identify attendance concerns and follow up on absences in line with school procedures
  • Communicate with parents, carers, and external agencies regarding attendance matters
  • Support initiatives aimed at improving attendance and punctuality
  • Produce attendance reports and maintain relevant records
  • Work closely with staff to promote a culture of regular attendance and engagement

Requirements for Attendance Officer:

  • Experience in administration, pastoral support, attendance, or educational settings is desirable
  • Strong organisational and record-keeping skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to handle sensitive information professionally and confidentially
  • Proactive approach to problem-solving and student support
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
