Contract: Full Time, Term Time Only
Start Date: September 2026 or sooner
Salary: £168.80 – £261.79 per day

Are you an enthusiastic and motivated Science Teacher looking to inspire young people and bring Science to life through engaging and practical lessons?

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated Science Teacher to work within local schools in Scarborough and the surrounding areas. This is an exciting opportunity to join supportive school environments where you can make a real impact on students’ curiosity, understanding, and achievement in science.

As a Science Teacher, you will deliver high-quality lessons across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, encouraging students to develop a strong understanding of scientific concepts and their real-world applications. You will support learners of all abilities, helping them to build confidence, improve attainment, and develop a genuine interest in science.

Science Teacher Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging Science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
  • Teach Biology, Chemistry, and Physics to a high standard
  • Inspire curiosity and enthusiasm for scientific learning
  • Support students of varying abilities to achieve their academic potential
  • Use assessment effectively to monitor progress and inform planning
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment
  • Prepare students for internal assessments and external examinations
  • Contribute to curriculum development and wider school initiatives where appropriate
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to support student progress and wellbeing

Science Teacher Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or equivalent teaching qualification
  • Specialism in Science or a related subject discipline
  • Experience teaching Science at secondary school level
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
  • A passion for science education and student development
  • Excellent communication and organisational abilities
  • An up-to-date CV covering the last ten years (with any gaps explained)
  • An enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or willingness to apply
