Job Title: Behaviour Support
Location: Barnsley
Pay: £460–£600 per week (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education are looking to appoint a Behaviour Support professional to work across schools in Barnsley. We are seeking a resilient and encouraging individual who can help students overcome challenges, improve engagement, and achieve positive outcomes.

The Behaviour Support role provides a valuable pathway into student mentoring and pastoral support while making a meaningful impact on young people's development.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with students who require additional behavioural guidance and encouragement
  • Help learners understand expectations and make positive choices throughout the day
  • Support the delivery of behaviour interventions and individual support strategies
  • Encourage respectful communication and positive peer interactions
  • Assist in reducing barriers that may affect engagement and participation
  • Contribute to a calm, structured, and supportive learning atmosphere

Behaviour Support Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people in education, mentoring, care, or support settings
  • Understanding of behaviour management approaches and student wellbeing
  • Ability to remain calm and professional during challenging situations
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Positive, patient, and solution-focused mindset
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
