Job Title: Level 3 Teaching Assistant (Primary)
Location: Barnsley
Salary: £460 – £600 per week
Contract Type: Full-time, long-term / Day-to-day

Are you a qualified Level 3 Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting children in their early education journey? A friendly and supportive primary school in Barnsley is seeking a dedicated Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join their team.

About the Role:
As a Level 3 Teaching Assistant, you will support class teachers in delivering engaging lessons and provide targeted support to pupils across the classroom. You will take an active role in enhancing learning experiences, supporting small groups and individuals, and helping maintain a positive and structured classroom environment.
Responsibilities:

Support the class teacher in delivering high-quality lessons and classroom activities

Work with individual pupils and small groups to reinforce learning and close gaps

Assist in maintaining a positive, engaging, and well-structured classroom environment

Support pupils with additional learning needs where required
-
Encourage participation, confidence, and positive behaviour in lessons

Help prepare learning materials and classroom resources

Monitor and report on pupil progress to teaching staff
Requirements:

Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) is essential

Previous experience working in a primary school setting

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

A proactive, supportive, and adaptable approach

Ability to work effectively as part of a team

A genuine commitment to supporting children’s learning and development
