Contract: Full Time, Term Time Only
Start Date: September 2026 or sooner
Salary: £168.80 – £261.79 per day

GSL Education are currently looking for an enthusiastic and committed Teacher of Mathematics to work in secondary schools across Malton and the surrounding areas. Whether you are looking for short-term supply work, long-term placements, or a permanent position, we can support you in finding a role that matches your experience and career goals.

As a Teacher of Maths, you will deliver high-quality lessons that develop students’ understanding of key mathematical concepts and their ability to apply them in a range of contexts. You will play an important role in helping learners build resilience, logical thinking, and confidence in a subject that underpins many areas of education and everyday life.

Main Responsibilities as a Teacher of Maths:

  • Plan and deliver engaging Mathematics lessons in line with the national curriculum and exam specifications.
  • Teach a range of topics including number, algebra, geometry, statistics, and ratio.
  • Develop students’ problem-solving, reasoning, and analytical skills.
  • Support learners in building confidence and improving attainment in Mathematics.
  • Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of students of varying abilities, including those with additional learning needs.
  • Assess, monitor, and record student progress, providing clear and constructive feedback.
  • Maintain high expectations for behaviour, engagement, and academic achievement.
  • Contribute to departmental planning, resources, and curriculum development where required.
  • Create a positive, structured, and supportive learning environment that promotes progress and achievement.

Teacher of Maths Minimum Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching Mathematics within a secondary school setting.
  • Strong subject knowledge of the Mathematics curriculum.
  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • Ability to explain complex concepts in a clear and accessible way.
  • Strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
