Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant
Location: Rotherham
Salary: £460 – £600 per week
Contract Type: Full-time, long-term / Day-to-day
Start Date: Immediately

About the Role:
As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to support students both inside and outside the classroom. You will help pupils develop confidence, resilience and positive learning behaviours while ensuring they remain engaged with their education.
Responsibilities:

Support students with social, emotional and mental health needs throughout the school day

Provide one-to-one and small group interventions where required

Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation strategies

Assist teachers in delivering engaging and accessible learning activities

Build strong, trusting relationships with students

Help maintain a calm, supportive and structured learning environment

Monitor progress and provide feedback to teaching and pastoral staff
Requirements:
-
Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable
-
Experience supporting SEMH needs is advantageous

Strong communication and interpersonal skills
-
Patient, resilient and empathetic approach

Ability to work effectively as part of a team

A genuine passion for supporting young people's wellbeing and development
