Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant
Location: Sheffield
Salary: £460 – £600 per week
Contract Type: Full-time, long-term / Day-to-day
Start Date: Immediately

About the Role:
As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to support students who require additional emotional, behavioural and learning support. You will play a key role in helping pupils develop confidence, resilience and positive engagement with education.
Responsibilities:

Support students with social, emotional and mental health needs in the classroom

Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils

Provide one-to-one and small group support where required

Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation strategies

Assist teachers in delivering engaging and accessible learning activities

Help maintain a calm, structured and supportive learning environment

Monitor student progress and communicate observations to relevant staff
Requirements:
-
Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable

Experience supporting individuals with SEMH needs is beneficial

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

A patient, empathetic and resilient approach

Ability to work effectively as part of a team

A genuine commitment to supporting student wellbeing and development
