Job Title: Youth Worker
Location: Stockton
Pay: £90–£120 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education are looking to appoint a Youth Worker to work across schools in Stockton. We are searching for a reliable and approachable individual who can use strong communication and mentoring skills to help students feel supported and engaged.

The Youth Worker will make a positive difference by providing guidance, encouragement, and practical support to young people throughout the school day.

Responsibilities:

  • Support young people with confidence, behaviour, and day-to-day engagement
  • Provide guidance during challenging moments using a calm and consistent approach
  • Help students develop positive routines, social skills, and self-awareness
  • Build trusted relationships that encourage cooperation and personal growth
  • Work alongside staff to provide consistent support throughout the school day
  • Promote positive choices, independence, and respectful communication

Youth Worker Requirements:

  • Experience working with young people in youth work, mentoring, care, or support settings
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build positive relationships
  • Understanding of the barriers that may affect young people's behaviour and engagement
  • Calm, reliable, and professional approach in challenging situations
  • Ability to work well with staff and contribute to student support plans
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
