Job Title: Cover Supervisor
Location: Barnsley
Salary: £460 – £650 per week
Contract Type: Full-time, long-term / Day-to-day

About the Role:
As a Cover Supervisor, you will oversee classes during teacher absence, ensuring students remain engaged with their learning and complete the work provided. You will play an important role in maintaining a calm, structured and productive classroom environment across a range of subjects.
Responsibilities:

Supervise whole classes during teacher absence

Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials and instructions

Maintain positive behaviour in line with school policies

Encourage student participation and engagement in learning

Support a safe, structured and focused classroom environment

Record and report any behavioural or safeguarding concerns

Provide feedback to teaching staff regarding lesson outcomes
Requirements:

Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable
-
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
-
Confidence managing groups of students
-
A positive, proactive and adaptable approach
-
Ability to remain calm and professional in different situations

A genuine interest in supporting education and student development
