Job Title: Youth Worker
Location: Newcastle
Pay: £90–£120 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education are currently recruiting a Youth Worker to support young people within Newcastle area. We are looking for a dependable and approachable individual who can offer guidance, build trust, and help students stay engaged throughout the day.
The Youth Worker role provides an opportunity to use mentoring, communication, and pastoral support skills to help students make positive choices and develop resilience.
Responsibilities:
- Offer practical and emotional support to young people during the school day
- Help students manage difficult moments and make positive behavioural choices
- Build trusted relationships that encourage confidence and cooperation
- Support engagement in learning, routines, and social development
- Work with staff to identify concerns and provide consistent guidance
- Promote independence, self-esteem, and respectful communication
Youth Worker Requirements:
- Experience supporting young people in youth work, mentoring, care, or community settings
- Strong ability to listen, guide, and communicate with young people effectively
- Understanding of barriers that may affect behaviour, confidence, or engagement
- Calm and reliable approach when supporting challenging situations
- Ability to work well with staff, students, and wider support teams
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
