Level 2 Teaching Assistant (Level 2 TA)
Location: Newcastle
Salary: £95 - £115 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long Term, Full-time / Part-time
Are you a motivated and supportive Level 2 Teaching Assistant looking to make a positive impact in the classroom?
GSL Education are seeking a committed Level 2 TA to work in schools across Newcastle, supporting teachers and helping students achieve their full potential.
The successful Level 2 TA will play an important role in supporting teaching and learning across the classroom. This rewarding position involves assisting students with their academic, social, and emotional development while helping to create a positive and engaging learning environment.
Responsibilities of a Level 2 TA:
• Support teachers in delivering engaging lessons and learning activities.
• Provide one-to-one and small group support to students as required.
• Assist pupils in understanding lesson content and completing tasks.
• Support the social, emotional, and academic development of students.
• Help maintain a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment.
• Encourage positive behaviour and support classroom management strategies.
• Prepare and organise learning resources and classroom materials.
• Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support student achievement.
Requirements of a Level 2 TA:
• CACHE Level 2, NVQ Level 2 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or an equivalent qualification.
• Experience working with children or young people in an educational setting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
• Good understanding of safeguarding and child development.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• A positive, patient, and proactive approach to supporting learning.
