Job Title: Physical Education teacher
Location: Barnsley
Pay: Up to £220 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education are currently looking for a Physical Education Teacher to join a thriving school in Barnsley. We are looking for a motivated professional who can encourage participation, build confidence, and support students in developing positive attitudes towards physical activity.

The PE teacher role provides the chance to promote fitness, teamwork, and personal development through practical and structured learning experiences.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver dynamic physical education sessions that cater to a range of abilities
  • Introduce students to a variety of sports, fitness activities, and movement-based learning
  • Encourage healthy competition, teamwork, and respect among participants
  • Support students in setting personal goals and celebrating achievements
  • Track progress and provide guidance to help students improve performance
  • Maintain safe and inclusive environments for all practical activities

PE Teacher Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Experience teaching Physical Education and leading sporting activities
  • Ability to motivate and engage students through practical learning experiences
  • Strong understanding of health, fitness, and physical development
  • Effective classroom and activity management skills
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
