Job Title: Food Technology Teacher
Location: Sheffield
Salary: Up to £220 per day
Contract Type: Full-time / Part-time, Flexible / Day-to-day / Long-term
Start Date: Immediately

Secondary schools across Sheffield are seeking enthusiastic and knowledgeable Food Technology Teachers to deliver engaging practical and theory-based lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.

About the Role:
As a Food Technology Teacher, you will plan and deliver engaging lessons that develop students’ understanding of nutrition, food preparation, health and safety, and culinary skills. You will create a positive classroom environment where students can learn through practical experiences while maintaining high standards of behaviour and achievement.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging Food Technology lessons across KS3 and KS4

  • Prepare and organise practical cooking activities safely and effectively

  • Teach students about nutrition, food science and healthy lifestyles

  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback

  • Maintain high standards of classroom and kitchen safety

  • Support positive behaviour and student engagement in lessons

  • Contribute to a supportive and inclusive learning environment

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent (desirable)

  • Experience teaching Food Technology within a secondary school setting

  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills

  • Excellent subject knowledge and practical teaching ability

  • Ability to inspire and motivate students of varying abilities

  • Professional, reliable and adaptable approach
