EYFS Level 3 Teaching Assistant

Location: Middlesbrough
Salary: £90–£120 per day (dependent on experience)
Start Date: September 2026
Contract Type: Full-Time

A welcoming and nurturing primary school in Middlesbrough is seeking a dedicated EYFS Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join their Early Years team from September 2026. The Head Teacher is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and experienced EYFS Level 3 Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting young children during the crucial early stages of their education.

This EYFS Level 3 Teaching Assistant role will involve working closely with the class teacher to deliver engaging learning opportunities through play, exploration and structured activities. The successful EYFS Level 3 Teaching Assistant will help create a safe, stimulating and inclusive environment where children can develop socially, emotionally and academically.

Key Responsibilities of the EYFS Level 3 Teaching Assistant:

  • Supporting children within the EYFS classroom.

  • Delivering learning activities alongside the class teacher.

  • Encouraging communication, language and social development.

  • Supporting children's personal, social and emotional wellbeing.

  • Assisting with observations and recording pupil progress.

  • Helping prepare classroom resources and learning environments.

  • Promoting positive behaviour and engagement.

  • Supporting pupils with additional learning needs where required.

The Ideal EYFS Level 3 Teaching Assistant Will:

  • Hold a Level 3 qualification in Childcare, Early Years or Teaching Assistance.

  • Have previous experience working within an EYFS or nursery setting.

  • Have a strong understanding of the EYFS Framework.

  • Be nurturing, enthusiastic and committed to supporting young learners.

  • Have excellent communication and teamwork skills.

  • Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply).

  • Have a fully checkable work history.
