Job Title: Cover Supervisor
Location: Barnsley
Salary: £460 – £650 per week (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long Term, Full-time / Part-time

GSL Education are seeking reliable and proactive Cover Supervisors to work in schools across Barnsley.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will step into the classroom to oversee pre-set lessons, ensuring students remain engaged and complete their work to a high standard. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with young people and are looking to build valuable school-based experience or progress into teaching.
Main Responsibilities of a Cover Supervisor:

Supervise classes across a range of subjects during teacher absences

Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials and keep students on task

Maintain a calm, focused, and respectful classroom environment

Manage behaviour effectively in line with school policies

Support students with completing assigned work

Provide clear instructions and guidance where needed

Report any concerns or incidents to relevant staff

Ensure a safe and supportive learning environment
Requirements of a Cover Supervisor:

Experience working with young people is desirable
-
Strong classroom management and communication skills

Ability to follow lesson plans accurately and confidently

A proactive, flexible, and reliable approach

Confidence in leading groups independently

A genuine interest in education and supporting student progress

An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
