Teacher of Maths

Contract: Part-Time, Full Time, Term Time Only
Start Date: September 2026 or sooner
Salary: £168.80 – £261.79 per day

As a Teacher of Maths, you will deliver engaging and well-structured lessons that help students develop strong numerical understanding, logical reasoning, and problem-solving skills. You will play a key role in helping learners build confidence in a subject that underpins many areas of education and everyday life.

Main Responsibilities as a Teacher of Maths:

  • Plan and deliver engaging Mathematics lessons in line with the national curriculum.
  • Teach a range of topics including algebra, geometry, statistics, and number.
  • Develop students’ problem-solving abilities and logical thinking skills.
  • Support learners in building confidence and improving attainment in Mathematics.
  • Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of students with varying abilities, including those with additional learning needs.
  • Assess, monitor, and record student progress, providing clear and constructive feedback.
  • Maintain high expectations for behaviour, engagement, and academic achievement.
  • Contribute to departmental planning and the development of teaching resources where required.
  • Create a positive, structured, and supportive classroom environment that promotes learning and progress.

Teacher of Maths Minimum Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching Mathematics within a secondary school setting.
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • A solid understanding of the Mathematics curriculum.
  • Ability to explain complex concepts in a clear and accessible way.
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
