Teacher of Maths
Location: York, North Yorkshire
Contract: Part-Time, Full Time, Term Time Only
Start Date: September 2026 or sooner
Salary: £168.80 – £261.79 per day

As a Teacher of Maths, you will deliver engaging and well-structured lessons that help students develop strong numerical understanding, logical reasoning, and problem-solving skills. You will play a key role in helping learners build confidence in a subject that underpins many areas of education and everyday life.
Main Responsibilities as a Teacher of Maths:
- Plan and deliver engaging Mathematics lessons in line with the national curriculum.
- Teach a range of topics including algebra, geometry, statistics, and number.
- Develop students’ problem-solving abilities and logical thinking skills.
- Support learners in building confidence and improving attainment in Mathematics.
- Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of students with varying abilities, including those with additional learning needs.
- Assess, monitor, and record student progress, providing clear and constructive feedback.
- Maintain high expectations for behaviour, engagement, and academic achievement.
- Contribute to departmental planning and the development of teaching resources where required.
- Create a positive, structured, and supportive classroom environment that promotes learning and progress.
Teacher of Maths Minimum Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching Mathematics within a secondary school setting.
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
- A solid understanding of the Mathematics curriculum.
- Ability to explain complex concepts in a clear and accessible way.
- Excellent communication, organisation, and interpersonal skills.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
