GSL Education are seeking a compassionate and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in Northumberland. This rewarding role offers a daily rate of £90–£115, depending on experience, and is ideal for someone dedicated to helping students overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential in a nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities of an SEMH Teaching Assistant:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEMH needs.
- Assist teachers in delivering tailored and engaging learning activities.
- Support pupils in regulating their emotions and behaviour effectively.
- Promote positive behaviour, resilience, and self-confidence.
- Help create a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment.
- Work closely with teaching staff and SENCO to implement support strategies.
Job Requirements for an SEMH Teaching Assistant:
- Experience working with children or young people with SEMH or behavioural needs.
- A calm, patient, and adaptable approach to supporting learning.
- Strong communication and behaviour management skills.
- Ability to build trusting and positive relationships with pupils.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing.
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
