GSL Education are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Graduate Teaching Assistant (TA) to join a supportive and inclusive school in Newcastle Upon Tyne. This is a fantastic opportunity for recent graduates who are passionate about education and eager to gain hands-on classroom experience before pursuing a career in teaching or further education roles.
About the Role:
As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will support teachers in delivering engaging and effective lessons while helping students to achieve their full academic potential. You will play an important role in creating a positive learning environment and providing additional support to students where needed.
Key Responsibilities of Graduate Teaching Assistant (TA):
- Support classroom teachers in delivering lessons across a range of subjects
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils
- Assist in preparing learning materials and classroom activities
- Help maintain a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
- Support students’ academic progress and personal development
- Observe, monitor, and record pupil progress and behaviour
- Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
Requirements for Graduate Teaching Assistant (TA):
- A degree in any subject (Education-related degrees are desirable but not essential)
- A genuine passion for working with young people and supporting learning
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proactive, adaptable, and eager to learn
- Patience, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
