GSL Education are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Design Technology Teacher to join a supportive and forward-thinking secondary school in Colchester. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced teacher or ECT looking to make a lasting impact within a thriving Design Technology department.
As a Design Technology Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and practical lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, encouraging creativity, innovation, and technical excellence. You will play a key role in developing students' confidence, problem-solving abilities, and understanding of design processes while maintaining high standards of achievement and behaviour.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver high-quality Design Technology lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
- Inspire students through engaging practical and theoretical learning experiences
- Assess, monitor, and track student progress, providing effective feedback and support
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes creativity and achievement
- Prepare students for examinations and coursework requirements
- Maintain a safe and organised workshop environment in line with health and safety regulations
- Contribute to curriculum development and departmental initiatives
- Promote positive behaviour, high expectations, and a passion for Design Technology
Requirements:
- Experience teaching Design Technology within a secondary school setting
- Strong subject knowledge across Design Technology disciplines
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills
- Ability to motivate and inspire students of varying abilities
- Commitment to safeguarding, student wellbeing, and educational excellence
- ECTs are encouraged to apply
