Location: Fulford, North Yorkshire
Contract: Part Time, Full Time, Term Time Only
Start Date: September 2026 or sooner
Salary: £92-£120 Per day
Are you a recent Science graduate with a passion for inspiring young people and exploring a career in education?
GSL Education are hiring a motivated and enthusiastic Science Graduate to undertake flexible roles within local schools in Fulford and the surrounding areas. This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable classroom experience and explore different pathways into education, including teaching, pastoral support, and laboratory-based roles.
As a Science Graduate, you may be placed in a variety of roles such as Science Tutor, Teaching Assistant, Science Technician, or Cover Supervisor, depending on your strengths and interests. These roles offer a fantastic stepping stone for anyone considering a future in teaching or education support.
Science Graduate Responsibilities:
- Support students in science lessons across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5.
- Provide targeted academic support as a Science Tutor, helping to raise attainment
- Assist teachers in delivering engaging and practical Science lessons
- Support preparation and organisation of laboratory equipment as a Science Technician
- Supervise classes as a Cover Supervisor, ensuring a positive learning environment
- Encourage student participation, curiosity, and engagement in Science
- Work with small groups or individuals to reinforce learning and understanding
- Help maintain a safe, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment
Science Graduate Requirements:
- A degree in a Science-related subject (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or equivalent)
- A genuine interest in working with young people in an educational setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
- Good organisational skills and a proactive attitude
- Previous experience working with young people is desirable but not essential
- An up-to-date CV covering the last ten years (with any gaps explained)
- An enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or willingness to apply
