Job Title: SENCO
Location: Sheffield
Salary: Up to £200 per day
Contract Type: Full-time / Part-time, Long-term / Temporary
Start Date: Immediately

A welcoming school in Sheffield is seeking a dedicated and experienced SENCO to lead and coordinate provision for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

About the Role:
As a SENCO, you will oversee the strategic development of SEND provision across the school. You will work closely with staff, families and external agencies to ensure students receive appropriate support, while promoting inclusive practices that enable all learners to succeed.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage SEND provision across the school

  • Identify, assess and monitor the progress of students with SEND

  • Develop and implement effective support plans and interventions

  • Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, parents and external professionals

  • Ensure compliance with SEND legislation and school policies

  • Provide guidance and training to staff on inclusive teaching practices

  • Maintain accurate records and coordinate annual reviews where required

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

  • National Award for SEN Coordination (or willingness to work towards it)

  • Experience supporting students with SEND in an educational setting

  • Strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice

  • Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills

  • Commitment to inclusive education and student wellbeing
