Teacher of PE
Location: Scarborough and surrounding areas, North Yorkshire
Contract: Part-Time, Temporary, Supply
Start Date: September 2026 or sooner
Salary: £168.80 – £261.79 per day

As a Teacher of PE, you will deliver engaging and inclusive lessons that encourage students to develop their physical skills, improve fitness, and participate positively in sport and exercise. You will have the opportunity to work in a variety of school settings, supporting students of different abilities and backgrounds.
Main Responsibilities as a Teacher of PE:
- Plan and deliver engaging PE lessons in line with the national curriculum.
- Promote participation, teamwork, sportsmanship, and healthy lifestyles.
- Support students in developing practical skills, confidence, resilience, and leadership qualities.
- Adapt lessons to meet the needs of learners with varying abilities and educational needs.
- Assess, monitor, and record student progress and attainment.
- Maintain high expectations for behaviour, engagement, and achievement.
- Contribute to extracurricular activities, sports clubs, fixtures, and enrichment opportunities where required.
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that supports student wellbeing and success.
Teacher of PE Minimum Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching Physical Education within a secondary school setting.
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
- Ability to motivate and engage students in a wide range of sporting activities.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
