Looking for an ECT in Sheffield!

Job Title: Early Career Teacher (ECT)
Location: Sheffield S5
Salary: Up to £220 per day
Contract Type: Full-time / Part-time, Flexible / Day-to-day / Long-term
Start Date: Immediately

A number of supportive schools in Sheffield S5 are seeking enthusiastic Early Career Teachers (ECTs) who are ready to begin or further develop their teaching journey across Key Stages 3 and 4.

With a focus on consistency, high expectations and trauma-informed approaches, these schools provide the guidance and mentoring needed to help new teachers thrive in their early career.

About the Role:
As an ECT, you will deliver engaging lessons, build positive relationships with pupils and begin developing your own teaching style within a supportive setting. You will be encouraged to grow professionally while gaining valuable classroom experience across a range of subjects and year groups.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver planned lessons across KS3 and KS4

  • Develop engaging and accessible learning activities

  • Support positive behaviour and classroom routines

  • Monitor pupil progress and contribute to assessment practices

  • Work closely with mentors and senior staff to develop teaching practice

  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment

  • Take part in training and professional development opportunities

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or pending ECT qualification

  • Strong subject knowledge within your specialist area

  • Enthusiastic, reflective and eager to develop professionally

  • Good classroom management and communication skills

  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff

  • Commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing
