Looking for a SEMH Teacher in Sheffield!

Job Title: SEMH Teacher
Location: Sheffield
Salary: Up to £200 per day
Contract Type: Full-time / Part-time, Flexible / Day-to-day / Long-term
Start Date: Immediately

A range of specialist and mainstream schools in Sheffield are seeking compassionate and resilient SEMH Teachers to support pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs across Key Stages 3 and 4.

About the Role:
As a SEMH Teacher, you will plan and deliver tailored lessons that meet the individual needs of pupils with SEMH challenges. You will create a supportive and structured classroom environment, helping learners to regulate behaviour, re-engage with education and make meaningful academic and personal progress.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons for pupils with SEMH needs

  • Create a calm, structured and supportive learning environment

  • Implement effective behaviour and support strategies in line with school policy

  • Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils

  • Adapt teaching approaches to meet individual learning and emotional needs

  • Monitor progress and contribute to pupil support plans

  • Work collaboratively with support staff and wider school teams

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

  • Experience working with SEMH or additional needs is highly desirable

  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills

  • A calm, resilient and empathetic approach

  • Ability to adapt teaching to individual pupil needs

  • Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive practice
