Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA)

Location: Basingstoke
Salary: £85.44 per day
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Full-Time/Part-Time, Long Term/Day-to-Day

Are you a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding opportunity in Basingstoke?

GSL Education are currently recruiting for a motivated and caring SEN TA to join a supportive and inclusive school environment. This role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting students with special educational needs and helping them achieve their full potential both academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities of SEN TA:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with special educational needs.
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities.
  • Support students with communication, social, emotional, and behavioural needs.
  • Implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and targeted support strategies.
  • Build positive relationships to encourage engagement, confidence, and independence.
  • Help maintain a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.

Requirements for SEN TA:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN (e.g. ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or learning difficulties).
  • A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
