IT Technician

Location: Hackney
Salary: £100 - £130 per day
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Long Term
Working Hours: 7:30am to 4:30pm

GSL Education London Branch is seeking an experienced IT Technician to join a thriving coeducational secondary school and sixth form in Hackney. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated IT Technician who is passionate about technology and enjoys supporting staff and students in a busy educational environment.

As an IT Technician, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of the school's IT systems and infrastructure. The successful IT Technician will provide technical support across the school, helping to maintain a reliable and efficient learning environment. Responsibilities

  • Provide first and second-line technical support to staff and students.
  • Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot hardware, software, and network systems.
  • Support classroom technology, including interactive displays, projectors, and audiovisual equipment.
  • Maintain user accounts, passwords, and permissions.
  • Assist with the setup and maintenance of laptops, desktops, printers, and other devices.
  • Monitor and maintain the school's IT infrastructure and network performance.
  • Support the implementation of software updates, security patches, and system upgrades.
  • Record and manage support requests through the school's helpdesk system.
  • Ensure IT equipment is maintained and inventory records are kept up to date.

Requirements

  • Previous experience working as an IT Technician or in a similar IT support role.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems, Microsoft 365, and networking principles.
  • Experience troubleshooting hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritise workloads and work effectively under pressure.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience working within a school or educational setting is desirable.
  • A commitment to providing excellent customer service and technical support.
