Year 1 Teacher – Part-Time | Harlow

A friendly and welcoming primary school in Harlow is seeking a passionate and dedicated Year 1 Teacher to join their team on a part-time basis from September.

About the Role
As a Year 1 Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and well-structured lessons that support pupils as they transition from Early Years into Key Stage 1. You will help children build confidence in core subjects such as reading, writing, and maths, while encouraging independence and a love of learning.
This role would suit a teacher who is enthusiastic, adaptable, and confident in creating a positive and stimulating classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Planning and delivering creative lessons in line with the KS1 curriculum
- Supporting pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development
- Creating a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment
- Monitoring and assessing pupil progress effectively
- Working collaboratively with teaching assistants and colleagues
- Communicating effectively with parents and carers
- Contributing to the wider life of the school
The Ideal Candidate
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience teaching within EYFS or KS1, ideally Year 1
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
- A caring, patient, and enthusiastic teaching style
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- A genuine passion for early primary education
