Behaviour Mentor
Location: Middlesbrough
Salary: £90–£120 per day (dependent on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Full-Time / Flexible
A supportive and inclusive school in Middlesbrough is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to join their team. This Behaviour Mentor role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting young people, promoting positive behaviour and helping pupils overcome barriers to learning.
The successful Behaviour Mentor will work closely with teaching staff, pastoral teams and pupils to provide targeted behavioural and emotional support. As a Behaviour Mentor, you will build positive relationships with pupils, helping them develop confidence, resilience and strategies for success both inside and outside the classroom.
Key Responsibilities of the Behaviour Mentor:
- Supporting pupils with behavioural, social and emotional needs.
- Building positive and professional relationships with pupils.
- Promoting positive behaviour and engagement in learning.
- Working with pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
- Supporting pupils to develop confidence, resilience and self-regulation skills.
- Liaising with teaching staff and pastoral teams to implement support strategies.
The Ideal Behaviour Mentor Will:
- Have previous experience working with children or young people.
- Have experience supporting pupils with behavioural or emotional needs.
- Be patient, resilient and adaptable in approach.
- Have strong communication and behaviour management skills.
- Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply).
- Have a fully checkable work history.
