Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA)
Location: North Yorkshire
Salary: £90 – £115 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long Term, Full-time / Part-time

GSL Education are seeking committed and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistants to work in schools across North Yorkshire.
This rewarding opportunity involves supporting students with Special Educational Needs within the classroom and helping them engage positively with their learning. The successful candidate will work alongside teachers and support staff to provide tailored assistance that encourages students’ academic, social, and emotional development.
Responsibilities of an SEN TA:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with SEN needs
- Assist students with classroom activities and learning tasks
- Support students according to the curriculum and syllabus
- Encourage positive behaviour, confidence, and classroom participation
- Help students develop communication, social, and emotional skills
- Work closely with teachers to adapt resources and activities when required
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to staff
- Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
Requirements of an SEN TA:
- Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN is desirable
- CACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare or Teaching Assistance is desirable
- A Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Education, or a related field is advantageous
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A patient, caring, and adaptable approach
- Passion for supporting students with additional needs
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
