Job Title: Higher Level Teaching Assistant
Location: Goole, East Riding of Yorkshire
Contract: Full Time, Term Time Only

Salary: £149 Per Day

Are you an experienced and motivated Higher Level Teaching Assistant looking to make a real difference in the classroom?

GSL Education are currently seeking a dedicated HLTA to work within a specialist school setting near Goole. This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils with additional learning and behavioural needs, helping them achieve both academically and personally in a supportive environment.

As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and support staff to deliver high-quality learning support, lead small group interventions, and help create a positive and engaging atmosphere for students.

Key Responsibilities as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant:

  • Support the planning and delivery of engaging lessons and learning activities.
  • Lead small group sessions and provide targeted intervention support.
  • Assist teachers in managing classroom behaviour and promoting positive engagement.
  • Support pupils with additional learning, emotional, and behavioural needs.
  • Help create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff and pastoral teams to support pupil progress.
  • Monitor and provide feedback on student development and wellbeing.

Minimum Requirements as a Higher Level Teaching Assistan:

  • HLTA qualification or relevant experience within a similar role.
  • Experience working with children or young people with additional needs in a school setting.
  • Strong communication and behaviour management skills.
  • Patient, adaptable, and resilient approach.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
  • Commitment to supporting students’ educational and personal development.
  • An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.
