Job Title: Early Years Practitioner
Location: Barnsley
Salary: £460 – £600 per week
Contract Type: Full-time, long-term / Day-to-day
Start Date: Immediately

Are you passionate about supporting young children in their earliest stages of learning and development? A welcoming and nurturing early years setting in Barnsley is seeking a dedicated Early Years Practitioner to join their team.

About the School:
The setting provides a warm, inclusive and stimulating environment where children are encouraged to explore, learn and grow at their own pace. Staff work closely together to ensure high standards of care, learning and safeguarding, with a strong focus on building secure relationships and supporting early development milestones.

About the Role:
As an Early Years Practitioner, you will support children aged 0–5 within the early years setting, helping to deliver engaging play-based learning activities. You will work closely with staff to support communication, social development, and early learning skills, ensuring children feel safe, supported and encouraged to explore.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the delivery of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework

  • Plan and engage children in play-based learning activities

  • Support children’s emotional, social and educational development

  • Assist with daily routines including mealtimes, toileting, and settling activities

  • Observe and record children’s progress and development

  • Work collaboratively with staff and communicate effectively with parents and carers

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children in an Early Years setting is desirable

  • Understanding of EYFS framework is an advantage

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Caring, patient and nurturing approach

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team

  • A genuine passion for supporting early childhood development
