Salary: £460 – £600 per week

About the Role:
As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to support pupils who may experience behavioural, emotional, or mental health challenges. You will help students remain engaged in learning, develop coping strategies, and build positive relationships within the classroom environment. This role is ideal for someone resilient, empathetic, and committed to making a lasting difference in young people’s lives.
Responsibilities:

Support students with SEMH needs throughout the school day

Work with teachers to deliver tailored classroom support

Provide one-to-one and small group interventions where needed

Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation strategies

Help maintain a calm, safe, and supportive learning environment

Build positive relationships with pupils to encourage engagement

Monitor progress and communicate updates to teaching staff
Requirements:

Previous experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs is desirable

Strong communication and behaviour management skills

Patient, resilient, and proactive approach

Ability to remain calm in challenging situations

A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable young people

Ability to work effectively as part of a team
