Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA)
Location: Rotherham
Salary: £460 – £600 per week (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long-term | Part-time / Full-time

GSL Education are excited to be working with a welcoming and inclusive school in Rotherham, seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant (TA). This role is perfect for individuals passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs and helping them reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities of the SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support for students with SEN.
  • Use effective strategies to enhance learning, engagement, and emotional wellbeing.
  • Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
  • Support students with a range of needs, including Autism, ADHD, and SEMH.
  • Adapt activities to promote an inclusive classroom environment.

Requirements for the SEN Teaching Assistant Role:

  • Experience working with SEN, SEND, or additional needs.
  • A patient, empathetic, and supportive approach.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding, inclusion, and behaviour strategies.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 TA, childcare, Psychology) are desirable.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
