Job Title: Cover Supervisor

Salary: £100 – £130 per day (depending on experience)

Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long Term, Full-time / Part-time

GSL Education are currently recruiting enthusiastic and dependable Cover Supervisors to work in schools across Whitby.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will be supervising classes during teacher absences, ensuring students remain engaged with their learning and complete set work in a structured and supportive classroom environment. The successful candidate will help maintain continuity of learning while encouraging positive behaviour and active participation.
Key Responsibilities of a Cover Supervisor:
- Supervise classes in the absence of the regular teacher
- Deliver pre-set work and ensure students remain focused on tasks
- Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
- Support students with their learning where required
- Provide feedback to teaching staff regarding student progress and behaviour
- Maintain a safe, respectful, and productive classroom environment
- Follow safeguarding and school procedures at all times
- Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff
Requirements of a Cover Supervisor:
- Previous experience working with young people is desirable
- Strong communication and classroom management skills
- Confident, proactive, and adaptable approach
- Ability to engage and motivate students
- Degree or relevant school-based experience is advantageous
- Passion for education and supporting student development
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
