Job Title: Design and Technology Teacher
Location: Doncaster
Salary: Up to £220 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long Term, Full-time / Part-time

Are you a creative and passionate Design and Technology Teacher with the ability to inspire innovation and practical skills in students?

GSL Education are currently recruiting dedicated and enthusiastic Design and Technology Teachers to work in schools across Doncaster.

This rewarding role involves delivering high-quality Design and Technology lessons across secondary key stages, helping students develop creativity, problem-solving, and practical skills. The successful candidate will create a stimulating learning environment where students are encouraged to design, build, and innovate with confidence.

Responsibilities of a Design and Technology Teacher:

  • Plan and deliver engaging Design and Technology lessons in line with the national curriculum
  • Teach across areas such as Product Design, Resistant Materials, Graphics, or Engineering (as required)
  • Support students according to the curriculum and syllabus
  • Assess, monitor, and track student progress
  • Create a safe, creative, and stimulating workshop/classroom environment
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively and promote safe use of equipment
  • Prepare lesson plans, resources, and practical activities
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and school staff

Requirements of a Design and Technology Teacher:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Design and Technology or a related subject
  • Previous experience teaching DT in schools is desirable
  • Strong classroom and workshop management skills
  • Knowledge of health and safety in practical environments
  • Passion for creativity, innovation, and student development
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
