Job Title: Geography Teacher
Location: Barnsley
Salary: Up to £220 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long Term, Full-time / Part-time

GSL Education are currently recruiting dedicated and enthusiastic Geography Teachers to work in schools across Barnsley.
This rewarding role involves delivering engaging and high-quality Geography lessons across secondary key stages, helping students develop a deeper understanding of the world around them. The successful candidate will create an inspiring learning environment where students are encouraged to think critically, ask questions, and achieve their full academic potential.
Responsibilities of a Geography Teacher:
- Plan and deliver engaging Geography lessons in line with the national curriculum
- Teach Physical and Human Geography across relevant key stages 3, 4 and 5
- Support students according to the curriculum and syllabus
- Assess, monitor, and track student progress
- Create a positive and stimulating classroom environment
- Manage classroom behaviour effectively and encourage active participation
- Prepare lesson plans, resources, and assessments
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and school staff
Requirements of a Geography Teacher:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geography or a related subject
- Previous experience teaching Geography in schools is desirable
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
- Excellent communication and organisational abilities
- Passion for Geography and inspiring young learners
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
