Job Title: PE Teacher
Location: Barnsley
Salary: Up to £220 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long Term, Full-time / Part-time

Are you a passionate PE Teacher with the energy and drive to inspire students through sport and physical activity?

GSL Education are currently recruiting enthusiastic and dedicated PE Teachers to work in schools across Barnsley.

This rewarding role involves delivering high-quality PE lessons across key stages 3, 4 and 5, encouraging student participation in a wide range of sports and physical activities. The successful candidate will help promote a positive attitude towards physical education while supporting students’ physical, social, and emotional development.

Responsibilities of a PE Teacher:

  • Plan and deliver engaging PE lessons in line with the national curriculum
  • Teach a variety of sports and physical activities across key stages 3, 4 and 5
  • Encourage student participation, teamwork, and healthy lifestyles
  • Assess, monitor, and track student progress in PE
  • Manage classroom and outdoor activity behaviour effectively
  • Organise and supervise sports activities, fixtures, and extracurricular clubs
  • Ensure a safe and inclusive environment during all physical activities
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and school staff

Requirements of a PE Teacher:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physical Education or a related subject
  • Previous experience teaching PE in schools is desirable
  • Strong behaviour management and classroom control skills
  • Passion for sports, fitness, and student development
  • Ability to motivate and inspire young people of all abilities
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
