Job Title: Behaviour Support
Location: Whitby
Salary: £95 – £115 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long-term | Part-time / Full-time
GSL Education are seeking compassionate and resilient Behaviour Support to work within supportive schools in the Whitby area. This is a rewarding opportunity for individuals who are passionate about helping students overcome behavioural challenges and reach their full potential.
As a Behaviour Support, you will work closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams to support students displaying challenging behaviour, ensuring they feel safe, understood, and ready to learn.
Your Role as a Behaviour Support Will Include:
- Supporting students with behavioural and emotional needs on a 1:1 basis or in small groups
- Implementing behaviour management strategies and intervention plans
- Promoting a calm, structured, and inclusive learning environment
- Supporting students with their social, emotional, and mental health development
- Assisting in managing classroom behaviour and de-escalating challenging situations
- Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff
- Ensuring all safeguarding and school policies are followed at all times
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience working with children or young people with behavioural needs (school, care, youth work, or similar)
- Strong communication, patience, and resilience
- Ability to build trusting relationships and support positive behaviour change
- A calm, adaptable, and proactive approach
- Relevant qualifications (desirable but not essential)
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
