Job Title: SEMH Teacher
Location: Sheffield
Salary: Up to £200 per day
Contract Type: Full-time / Part-time, Flexible / Day-to-day / Long-term

A range of specialist schools and alternative provisions in Sheffield are seeking resilient and compassionate SEMH Teachers to support students with social, emotional and mental health needs.

About the Schools:
Schools across Sheffield are looking for dedicated SEMH Teachers who can build positive relationships and maintain calm, structured and trauma-informed learning environments. These settings prioritise consistency, emotional wellbeing and supportive behaviour approaches to help students feel safe, engaged and ready to learn.

About the Role:
As an SEMH Teacher, you will deliver tailored lessons, manage challenging behaviour positively, and support students with a range of additional needs. This role is ideal for teachers who are patient, adaptable and passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to education and achieve positive outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons to students with SEMH needs

  • Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils

  • Manage behaviour using consistent and supportive strategies

  • Create a safe, structured and inclusive classroom environment

  • Adapt learning to meet individual student needs and abilities

  • Work closely with support staff and external professionals where required

  • Maintain safeguarding and wellbeing standards at all times

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

  • Experience working with students with SEMH or additional needs

  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills

  • Calm, resilient and professional approach

  • Ability to build strong relationships and de-escalate challenging situations

  • Reliable and flexible availability
